How it works
Enter your school's normal rules once. Then manage the exceptions.
A walkthrough of what using DutyRound actually involves, from an empty staff list to a printed roster and the day's duty cover.
- 01
Add your staff
Paste or type your staff list, then set each person's working days. Part-time staff only appear on the days they are at school.

Set duty workload
Say how much duty each person should carry. Targets scale with each person's load, and a hard maximum is never crossed.

- Target 4 duties
- A. Nguyen · 0.6
- Target 2 duties

Set up duty periods and areas
Create your duty periods with their real times, then the areas each period needs covered and how many staff each area takes.

Set student / year-group locations
Choose which year groups play in each area, so supervision matches where students actually are.

- Oval
- Year 3–Year 6
- Basketball courts

Generate the roster
A capacity check first compares the duty positions your timetable requires with the duty your staff can reasonably carry, so shortfalls surface early. DutyRound then fills every position inside your rules.

Swap anyone by hand, ask for another suggestion, or keep an assignment so regenerating leaves it alone. Approve when it's right, then print it.

Can one person use DutyRound on their own?
Yes. DutyRound is made for the person who has the duty roster in their portfolio — a deputy or assistant principal, a school administrator, or a teacher who coordinates playground duty. One person can build and run the whole roster, and other staff can keep receiving it the way your school already shares it.
